Make sure éverything is vray formatéd to ensure á smooth project ánd render. Having only vráy textures or convérted c4d téxtures (otherwise they comé out missing ór transparent). Also if yóu arent famiIiar with render séttings try getting á premade vráy c4d scene and digging into it to understand things. Since vray cameras are based on real cameras make sure the f-stop and shutterspeed make sense. And for the gi to turn up the multiplier and testing that to see if an image renders. Im currently working in vray for c4d for work and I can say more than half my time is spent troubleshooting. Ive also séen people use prémade vray studió kits that cán control the caméra, lights and targét locations with án easier interface. And they have preset render settings for low mid and high quality renders. Youre going to want to read up on how sampling actually works, the way light bounces (diffuse depth), the different material settings (energy conservation, linear workflow etc) to really get an improvement in using VRay. You just réad about hów its bétter but if yóu dont understand ány of the technicaI aspects of hów a renderer wórks, then using oné package over anothér will yield nó benefit to yóu. If youre using busted material settings and dont know a damn thing about setting up lights correctly, the best render engine in the world cant make you (or anyone) a better artist.
